It’s for sure! Columbia Pictures has good negotiation
skills, as the company managed to win the battle to produce a new romantic
comedy adventure. This time the protagonists are Reese Witherspoon and Ben
Stiller, reported Variety.
The movie’s title wasn’t established but all the other
important facts were settled. Cameron Crowe, who wrote the screenplay, is going
to produce it along with Scott Rudin and Stiller and Witherspoon will be the
on-screen couple.
Because the actors are involved in other projects, the
filming will begin in January.
This is the second time Crowe collaborates with Columbia. The first time
was in 2000 with the movie “Almost Famous.”
According to Variety, Crowe and Amy Pascal from Columbia
Pictures have a relationship that started back in 1989 with “Say Anything,”
when Pascal was at 20th Century Fox.
Crowe has won an Oscar for “Almost Famous” and was nominated
5 times for “Jerry Maguire,” which he produced for Sony. His 2005 “Elizabethtown” received
negative criticism and was also unsuccessful at the box-office.
Stiller's upcoming movie is “Tropic Thunder,” which will be
released in August, and he is also filming “Night at the Museum 2: Escape from
the Smithsonian”. Witherspoon is involved in the movie
“Four Christmases” along with Vince Vaughn and is also working on the animation
“Monsters vs. Aliens.”
