Jackass star Steve-O was charged with felony cocaine possession,
and was hospitalized for the second time this week, at Cedar-Sinai Medical
Center, TMZ reports.
The drug charge stems from an incident
on March 3 when Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, hit the door of one
of his neighbors in his Hollywood apartment
building.
The tenant, whose name has not
been released by police, complained that Steve-O banged on his door with a
piece of metal. The 33-year-old star and a group of friends stood outside the
person’s door. When Steve-O asked “Everybody want him out?!” the group
enthusiastically answered “Yeah!”
Glover was arrested on suspicion
of vandalism and drug possession, after officers found a small amount of drugs
on him.
An insider told Star Magazine
that Steve-O was hospitalized Sunday at the Thalians Mental
Health Center,
specialized in crisis intervention, where he was put on 72-hour-hold, which has
been extended to 14 days.
“Steve is stabilized on meds at
this point,” the source told Star. “He was also treated for burns on
his skin as if he had been putting cigarettes out on his own body.”
A family member told Star that
Steve-O suffers from bipolar disorder. During the weekend Steve-O allegedly
sent suicide e-mails to friends.
A source close to the stuntman
told E! News that “He is not suicidal,” adding that any reports suggesting
Steve-O is on suicide watch are “totally false.”
His arraignment was initially
scheduled for Thursday, but given the circumstances, the arraignment was
postponed until March 26.
