Although we have very little information on Steve Jobs’ whereabouts these days, we do know where he is most likely not to be: at Apple’s annual shareholder meeting. That, of course, has not been confirmed, but Bloomberg says so, and it wouldn’t really come as a surprise if they were right on this one.
Jobs has left us a bit in the dark with his “I’m feeling well, but I’ll take a 5-month leave of absence,” but since he is supposed to be free as a bird until June, on February 25th he’ll probably have something better to do.
Last month, Jobs said in a letter addressed to the Apple community that after thorough investigations, his doctors found a hormone imbalance that ‘robbed’ him of his proteins to be the cause of his weight loss. Furthermore, he went on explaining that he had already begun a treatment for his nutritional problem, and he should be back on his feet until late spring.
But just a couple of weeks later, Jobs acknowledged his health problem was more complicated than he originally thought. He also said he will be taking a leave of absence until June, in order to allow everyone at Apple to focus on delivering extraordinary products.
So until Jobs gets back on his feet, shareholders will have the chance to discuss Jobs’ condition, and why he, and other Apple execs, didn’t come forth with the problem before. Jobs said earlier in January that the moment he will be unable to fulfill his duty, Apple’s Board of Directors would be the first to be informed.
