Stephen Hawking is one of today’s brilliant minds, being well known by his fascinating studies regarding the origin of the Universe and black holes. Stephen hawking, British born, comes from a family that encouraged higher learning, as his father, Dr. Frank Hawking, was a research biologist and his mother was a political activist. Stephen Hawking’s main research fields are theoretical cosmology and quantum physics, two research fields which he helped evolve a lot. Recently, the renowned physicist was appointed to the post of distinguished research chair at a quantum theory and cosmology institute in Canada, the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics.

He will conduct regular stays at the institute in order to perfect his studies and come up with more information and theories regarding the origin and rules by which the Universe is governed. Stephen hawking is very well know for proving that a black hole can emit radiation, thus providing more data on a celestial body with which mankind hasn’t even been in contact yet.

 The University of Cambridge professor is very keen on explaining how the Universe functions and what are its origins, this being extremely useful in humanity’s quest to find out more about itself. Hawking’s work doesn’t revolve only around scientific work, as his book “A Brief History Of Time” is beloved by many readers, staying on the Sunday Times’ bestseller list for 237 weeks.
