Stephen Colbert already knows the perfect Christmas gift for spectators. The actor/comedian and Comedy Central are already feeling the Christmas spirit and made public on Tuesday their plans to host a special, "A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All."
The Christmas gift from Comedy Central features a holiday music show of about one hour. "A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All" will feature Colbert himself, Toby Keith, John Legend, Willie Nelson, Feist, Elvis Costello and "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart.
The musical was scheduled to air on Sunday, November 23 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Apparently, Colbert will sing a song entitled "Hanukkah" with John Stweart and another song with Nelson - "Little Dealer Boy," probably a parody version of "The Little Drummer Boy." Most songs have been written by "Daily Show’s" David Javerbaum along with Adam Schlesinger, bassist of the band Fountains of Wayne.
As for the singing, Colbert probably can’t wait to showcase his pipes again. He was involved in similar shows in the past. Among them, a duet of the "The Star-Spangled Banner" with Legend and Nat King Cole's "Love" singed to Michelle Obama.
A DVD version of the Christmas special will be available for purchase starting November 25. The DVD offer includes a special "book burning Yule log."
Part of the earnings will be donated to hunger-relief organization Feeding America.
