Wednesday, Stephanie Izard broke the ice by becoming the
first woman to win the “Top Chef” competition. Now she knows for sure that she’s
on the right path in her life. This was “a reaffirmation that this is what I'm
supposed to do with my life,” said Izard, according to E! Online.
Her magical hands mixed and matched ingredients and put a
spell on the jury’s sense of taste. Even if her desert didn’t impress and was
called “unrefined,” she managed to impress the judges with her other three
courses.
The other two finalists were Richard Blais and Lisa
Fernandes. They
were all good but Izard was the best.
The
prize consists of $100,000, a showcase at the Food & Wine Classic
in Aspen and a
spread in Food & Wine magazine. And, of course, a big ego boost.
"This is the biggest thing that has happened in my
life. My life's about to change, it's going to be absolutely insane," said
Izard.
The trio of lamb with olives, braised pistachios and berries
helped her become the best chef.
Initially, the three contestants were supposed to have three
world-famous chefs to be their sous chefs in the first day, but they were
allegedly sick and didn’t make it.
Blais and Fernandes remained confident about their future,
although they would have wanted to win. Who can blame them?
"Losing at the last second, it sucks," said Blais,
reported E! Online.
This was the fourth season of “Top Chef.” The last episode
took place in San Juan, Puerto
Rico. Bravo announced that it was planning a new show called “Top
Chef Junior,” making teenagers compete for the prize of Top Chef.
