Stars Slimed And Honored At Kids' Choice Awards

Not everyone was as lucky as Miley Cyrus, who not only got awarded twice, but also avoided being covered in the traditional green goo, at Nickelodeon's 2008 annual Kids Choice Awards ceremony on Saturday.

The teen superstar, who took home trophies for favorite female singer and TV actress, asked in her acceptance speech not to be showered in green slime, the ceremony's traditional badge of honor.

"I don't want to get slimed but I am glad to be here," the 15-year-old "Hannah Montana" star said, among thanking several people, including her mother, father, agent, manager "and my lord and savior Jesus Christ."

She returned a few minutes later to perform her hit song, "G.N.O – Girls Night Out," and had a camera crew scampering to get out of the way when she charged into the audience, microphone in hand.

Harrison Ford, Orlando Bloom, Cameron Diaz, Brandon Fraser and the show's host, Jack Black, were less fortunate and all got covered in slime.

"It's the whole reason I became an actor," Bloom said upon his being raised into a slime-filled tank. "To take part in the biggest celebrity sliming in Kids' Choice history."

Johnny Depp was named favorite actor again, while Diaz won the Wannabe prize, awarded to celebrities who children look up t o. She used her time at the winner's podium to promote environmental causes, saying to the audience of children: "You're going to change the world."

"Every one of you kids is the future - go out and make the world a better place," said Diaz, who previously won the Big Burp Award in 2001, adding "Oh wow. And when I say wow, I mean, Wow! This is the biggest honor in my entire life."

The night's other double honoree was Nickelodeon's homegrown talent Drake & Josh, which not only took home the coveted orange blimp for Favorite TV Show, but earned series star Drake Bell the Favorite TV Actor award, as well.

Other winners were Eddie Murphy for favorite voice from an animated movie for "Shrek the Third," "American Idol" for favorite reality show and, one of the biggest crowd favorites of the night, the Jonas Brothers for favorite music group while Chris Brown won for favorite male singer.
