“Stars Wars: The Clone Wars” is meant to attract younger
fans..even kids, so it’s unfair for older fans or fanatics to get upset with
George Lucas making the animation "Star Wars."
The animated Stars Wars is set between episode II and III
with Anakin Skywalker still on the good side. The Clone Wars happened between
the Attack of the Clones and Revenge if the Sith. It was a matter of time until
George Lucas transformed the space opera into a digitally animated movie, which
is more like a cartoon and a video game.
The basic story is action, action, battle, action, animated
heroes and bad guys..and..no, this is not a video game. A major plus for the
movie are the characters which are very well crafted, looking like they were
hand painted. Also, other objects and scenes are pretty convincing.
So, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” is a sight for sore eyes but
it doesn’t make up for the non impressive dialogues and story. It’s clearly a
project made for TV and will surely manage to impress the children.
Dave Filoni, the one who directed “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” did his job
very well, making the characters out-front animated, and the action very catchy
and vibrant. So, once again, the visuals are very complex and good enough to
make viewers watch the animated Star Wars.
Regarding the action, the Clone Wars are the intergalactic
conflicts which caused the extinction of the Jedi and set the scene for bag guys
like Darth Vader. Anakin has his own apprentice Ahsoka, managing to click and
get along just fine.
So, for adults the animation is a good choice even if it is
only for the effects. For kids ..it will be a total hit, overall.
