The animated spin-off called "Star Wars: The Clone Wars,"
which will be released on Sunday and is looking to take the Star Wars series to
new heights of popularity has been highly anticipated for quite some time. George
Lucas, even though he announced that he will be focusing on other projects, not
related to the series, decided on giving it one more go with these live-action
TV Star Wars episodes.
According to Mr. Lucas, the show offers unlimited
possibilities, as "This is bigger, and we get to go more places. We're
allowed to go and do stories about clones. We get to know them and find out
what they do for recreation and what Jabba the Hut's family is all about, do
all kinds of things that don't have anything to do with the main character."
The CG-animated feature film will provide the introduction
for the television series debuting on Cartoon Network this fall, which already
has more than 30 episodes completed. The plan involves the release of about 100
episodes, which will take the series' fans to many new places and provide new
and exciting information about the universe created by Mr. Lucas. "There is
an entertainment industry [in the Star Wars universe]," Lucas said,
looking to increase the mystery surrounding the subject, adding that "you
won't find that out until you get to the live-action show in a few years."
All the known and beloved characters will be present, as
there will be several new ones introduced through out the series, including Anakin
Skywalker, his new apprentice Ahsoka Tano, Count Dooku, Obi-Wan Kenobi and
Master Yoda.
