The world premiere of the latest movie from the space saga
“Star Wars” took place last Sunday. The animated "Star Wars: Clone
Wars" opened Friday across the U.S. and apart from George Lucas, Dave
Filoni, one of the series’ most faithful fans, was the highlight of the event
as he is also the director. Lucas was impressed by his talent and let him call
the shots of the animated film. So it was Filoni and his team who made the
seventh release of the worldwide famous movie.
“Just getting to meet George Lucas was pretty amazing, and
then working with him and getting to be part of this process . . . it's a great
responsibility. I feel like my job is to bring his universe to the screen and
make sure it lives up to the standards he's set."
Its action is set somewhere between Episodes II and III and
it is like a farewell from any relationship or involvement that implies human
feeling. The film opens with Jedi
knights trying to restore peace within the galaxy. The story focuses on a
pre-Vader Anakin Skywalker and his new female apprentice, Ahsoka. They go on a
mission to save Jabba the Hutt's kidnapped son. The film also features Anakin
Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Queen Amidala and Yoda, as well as villains Count
Dooku, Palpatine and General Grievous.
The movie also serves as the warm up for a “Clone Wars” TV series, with the same
type of animation, which starts Oct. 3 on Cartoon Network.
