Another page has been attached to Barack Obama’s list of
celebrity supporters.
Two music legends will team up so as to help him become a political
legend.
Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel will perform together in New York City next month in
a concert meant to raise some funds for Democratic presidential nominee Barack
Obama.
The news was confirmed by both Barack Obama’s campaign and
Bruce Springsteen’s publicist. The event scheduled to take place on October 16
at the Hammerstein Ballroom will most likely be attended by the Democratic
candidate himself.
However, seeing the Boss and the Piano Man perform for Barack
Obama can’t possibly be cheap. Thus, tickets start at $500, while the so-called
“premiere seating” will make the fiercest Obama fans get $2,500 out of their
pockets. Even more expensive are the exclusive “lounge” seats, whose prices may
grow up to $10,000.
Bruce Springsteen did not conceal his political preferences
and let everyone know whom he supported as early as April, when he posted a
notice on his Web site, saying that Obama had the wisdom, the thoughtfulness
and the flexibility a United
States president should have.
Other Barack Obama celebrity fans include television talk
show host Oprah Winfrey, as well as actors Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Robert De
Niro and Scarlett Johansson, while John McCain has Robert Duvall and Sylvester
Stallone on his Republican side.
Bruce Springsteen will also perform together with the E
Street Band during the Super Bowl halftime show due to be held at Raymond James
Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
In addition to this, the rocker and his group are scheduled
to perform on Saturday in Philadelphia
in favor of Barack Obama.
