One of the best recipes for success nowadays in Hollywood is adapting a comic book for the big screen. The script has basically been written for you, you just have to shorten it – but not too much, however, as you need the material for the sequels. This recipe has worked well with Superman, which even spawned a few cartoon and television series, not to mention Batman, with multiple movies, cartoons and series.
X-Men and Hellboy were also blockbusters, and so it was the adaptation of Catwoman. One of the most intriguing and well-produced movies so far, based on a comic book, was Sin City, with a revolutionary production method.
Another series that was turned into a successful cartoon series is Spiderman, the story or a regular, somewhat dorky boy who is bit by a radioactive spider and develops superpowers. As it was one of the most successful comic books, it was soon turned into a movie, which unsurprisingly became a blockbuster. After the first movie was received with such fanatical excitement, the producers made a sequel. The sequel was equally successful, and so the third installment was also produced.
Now, it’s time for Spiderman 4. One of the actors who have confirmed that they will be resuming their roles is actor J. K. Simmons, who will once again play J. Jonah Jameson, the publisher of the Daily Bugle. Just a while back, an announcement was released, claiming that both Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi will join the series once more.
