Spending Vacation In A Space Hotel Is Not A Dream Anymore

Mankind has managed to conquer spaces. As if it weren’t enough to conquer the time and space via the Internet or high speed means of transport, man has even dared to dream of an ultimate experience, that of spending a unforgettable vacation to outer space.

And it seems that the rich, lucky fellows who will have the “fuel” to go on such vacation should already start packing: the first space hotel is expected to open in 2012, as it has recently been reported. For only about $4.7 million, people will be able to spend three days in the “Galactic Suite” hotel and to experience the ultimate adventure of being real space travelers.

They will enjoy seeing the Sun rising for 15 times a day and they will also be able to relax watching the stars directly from their hotel rooms. In only 80 minutes the hotel’s guests will be implicitly traveling around the world, although they will see in fact just the little Blue Planet in front of their eyes.

The “Galactic Suite” hotel will be the first such project in humankind’s history. However, a surprising fact is that the hotel’s architects are not Russian, American or Japanese, but Spanish. Although it hasn’t been yet clear exactly how much backing is behind this project, it has been said to be obviously the most expensive built-by-man hotel in the galaxy.

Private investors from the United, the United Arab Emirates and Japan are in talks in joining the Barcelona-based project, which has already received about $3 billion from an American company who intends to eventually colonize Mars.

So, building the hotel will be just the first step in colonizing the space and in few years “The Jetsons” won’t be science fiction anymore! The only question is whether mankind will be able to handle their dreams!
