Stuttgart, Germany - A special "green" edition of the Smart Fortwo celebrated a world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show with a fresh interior design concept and "melon green" metallic paintwork and 15-inch alloys giving it a sporty look.

The melon green metallic colour scheme is continued in the interior with exclusive fabric design and shades of brown on the seats and door trim. The instrument panel features a dark brown leather effect. Shimmering matt silver parts round off the cabin.

The edition is available in both a coupe and open-top version. The other features include soft touch automatic gear programme, electric windows, air conditioning with automatic temperature control and a panoramic roof with sunblind for the coupe.

Micro hybrid drive (mhd) technology is standard with an intelligent and user-friendly automatic start/stop system. The control electronics shut down the 52kW /71 hp engine as soon as the driver brakes and the vehicle's speed drops to less than eight kilometres an hour.

The start/stop system reduces the combined fuel consumption by approximately 8 per cent to 4.4 litre for the coupe and 4.5 litres for the convertible. C02 emissions are listed at 104 grammes per kilometre for the coupe and 106 grammes per kilometre for the open- top.

In Germany, Daimler lists the special model "edition limited three" at a price of 15,470 euros (19,605 dollars) for the coupe and 18,510 euros (23,454 dollars) for the convertible.
