Britney Spears’ hairdresser testified on Wednesday that the singer confessed to her she was fearing her former manager and friend, Osama “Sam” Lutfi.
The testimony came as a result of the fact that lawyers for the pop star’s father seek to obtain extensive restraining orders against Britney Spears’ ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, attorney Jon Eardley and Sam Lutfi. A judge extended on Wednesday temporary restraining orders against the three men and intends to hear further testimony on April 1.
Hairdresser Roberta Romero explained that Britney Spears’ remarks came after Sam Lutfi constantly sent her text messages late last year. In addition, she said Lutfi had tried to convince her to communicate various messages to the pop star, including that he was doing his best to “free” her.
The hairdresser, who has served as Britney Spears’ stylist for more than a year, testified that her employer had assigned her to tell Lutfi to stop bothering them. Moreover, both Romero and Spears informed the latter’s security staff about Lutfi’s text messages.
Romero also said she only spoke to Lutfi once and that he used no threats during the telephone call. Nevertheless, she explained that the singer had warned her to avoid her former manager and friend. “She told me she’s scared of him and not to talk to him,” the hairdresser testified.
Joel Boxer, an attorney for Jamie Spears, the pop star’s father, read several text message in court on Wednesday. One message read: “Very close to getting her free now.”
Nonetheless, Lufti’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, refused to comment with regard to the text messages.
Roberta Romero was the fourth witness to state under oath in the case, as Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aviva K. Bobb has also heard testimony from Jamie Spears, a security guard, as well as Geraldine Wyle, one of the attorney’s for Britney’s dad.
