After nine months from when she filed the divorce papers, Britney
Spears is officially divorced. The pop princess married the singer Kevin Federline,
also known as K-Fed, in a private wedding ceremony in September 2004.
Last year in November Spears, 24, has filed the divorce citing
irreconcilable differences with Federline, 29.
Today, their marriage ended after Court Commissioner Scott
Gordon signed orders for dissolution of marriage.
"I think she's okay with the terms," Spears'
lawyer, Laura Wasser, said in a press statement after the hearing. "I
think both of them would prefer to have more custody, and that can be worked
out down the line."
During their two years of marriage Spears and Federline had
two sons, 22-month-old Sean Preston Federline and 10-month-old Jayden James
Federline.
According to Wasser, the child custody order was tentatively
sealed, pending an Aug. 14 hearing.
Pop star Britney Spears and her now officially ex-husband Kevin
Federline have reached a divorce settlement in March this year.
Since her divorce, Britney Spears’ life had been littered
with events that made long-standing headlines the world over, including a stint
at Promises rehab centre.
In May, Britney Spears has made her first appearance on
stage in almost three years, performing for 20 minutes at a San Diego nightclub. Britney Spears hasn’t
released a new album since 2003.
