Sony Computer Entertainment America lined up its PSP hardware offerings this week, in parallel with announcing the arrival of two franchises on the platform, namely Motor Storm and LittleBigPlanet. The company also announced the availability throughout 2009 of several limited edition packs.
First things first, MotorStorm Arctic Edge, developed with Bigbig Studios, takes racers in the cold setting of Alaska. According to Sony, the game will also arrive on PlayStation 2 later this year. LittleBigPlanet, developed with MediaMolecule, comes with new SackBoy adventures, while at the same time offering the same experience that has made the game so popular.
The limited edition offerings include the Hannah Montana PSP Entertainment Pack – which is part of the company’s strategy to also satisfy the tastes of female gamers. Priced at $199.99, the package includes the PSP game, a selection of episodes from the TV show, a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo,, and sticker for the customization of the PSP.
Sony also announced the future availability of the Assassin’s Creed PSP Entertainment Pack, also limited edition, which will includes the game, a ‘Piano Black’ PSP, as well as other content, but details about that are to be revealed at a later date.
Also coming un on the PSP this year is the Rock Band Unplugged, which will also feature an in-game store for downloadable content for North American and European users.
The company also gave a few hints about the exclusive PS3 releases for the year 2009, such as Killzone 2, inFamous, MLB’09: The Show, MAG, UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves and God of War III, but the exact dates for them have not been given.
