Sony Ericsson has just made two
important announcements! The company has revealed a brand new device, the 3G
USB modem, and it has announced that it has also extended its relationship with
Google Inc. by making public its first mobile phone with Google Maps and RSS
newsfeeds as standard. The both moves should bring even more joy for Sony
Ericsson’s devices’ users.
The MD-300 USB modem is obviously
HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access) and it features
the UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) and quad-band GSM, as
Helene Barnekow, Sony Ericsson’s marketing chief, said. Barnekow made also
public that the brand new modem is self-installing, that it represents also a
128 MB memory stick and that it contains its own Mac and Windows drivers, as
well as the settings for no less than 170 mobile networks from all over the
world.
Sony Ericsson targets two types of audiences with its brand new MD-300
USB modem. Sony Ericsson expects its modem to sell first of all to the
companies for mobile use and secondly to the consumers for wireless broadband
in their homes, where such a modem brings the consumers the advantage of
getting broadband without having to wait for cabling and equipment to be
installed.
Sony Ericsson has also announced two new Walkman models, as well as
several upgraded peripherals, which includes also headsets and loudspeakers.
