Christmas is coming and people
started to buy more and more gifts for their families, friends and all their beloved
ones. Thus, the winter holiday season represents the most prolific period of
the year for both stores and producers. People buy a lot more stuff than before,
as Christmas became a celebration of giving and receiving more or less
expensive presents. Santa Claus has now a wide range of products to choose
from, such as all kind of gadgets or sweets.
For Sony Electronics, this
Christmas will really be about giving and receiving, as the Japanese company
added a new offer to its Take Back Recycling Program with this occasion. Sony
will offer a $100 discount coupon for its smart Bravia HDTV sets, if people
choose to recycle their old TV sets.
At the moment, Sony’s Bravia line represents one of the most exquisite TV sets line on the market. They are
available in different sizes and in both LCD and rear-projection models; their pricing
starts from a minimum of $699.99.
The Japanese electronics company
launched the Take Back Recycle Program in September 2007, but the new
promotion, called TV Trade Up, was set to run until March 31, 2008. However, the
$100 discount coupons will be issued until March 15.
"By layering our Take Back
Recycling Program with offers like the TV Trade Up promotion, Sony expects to
reach its goal of recycling one pound of old product for every pound of new
product sold," said Mark Small, the company’s vice president of
environment, safety and health. About a month ago, Greenpeace awarded Sony a
top position in the list of major environmental-friendly companies.
