Snoop Dogg Is Under the MTV Spotlight More Than Ever

It appears that songs from rapper Snoop Dogg's back catalogue will be released for MTV's Rock Band series. Snoop’s new album, “Malice in Wonderland,” the follow-up to last year’s “Ego Trippin’”, features “seemingly unlikely musical guests” and tracks produced by Dr. Dre and Pharrell.

As part of his new MTV deal, a selection of songs from throughout his career will be added to Rock Band, marking the first time an overtly hip-hop artist has made the game’s rock-heavy track list.

No further details seem to be available, such as track selection, pricing, or packs, but one can expect that radio edits will likely reign supreme.

But there’s more. Apart from releasing his new album on MTV networks, the 37-year-old rapper today announced a first-of-its kind global deal that will bring the entertainers' personality to television in a new variety talk show "Dogg After Dark."

The show will be shot from Hollywood hotspot The Kress and feature celebrity interviews, sketch comedy and musical performances. MTV plans to run the show for seven consecutive Tuesdays starting February 17 at 9 p.m. Variety show is the second Snoop Dogg has emceed for MTV following 2002's short-lived "Doggy Fizzle Televizzle."

"Screw ya wigz on tight and tune in on Tuesday nights for the first step to the next level of Snoop D-O-double-G," Snoop said in a joint statement with MTV. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed
