Hollywood is again in mourning, after John Travolta’s 16-year-old son, Jett, passed away on January the 2nd, while vacationing with his family.
Actor John Travolta and his family were on vacation in the Bahamas, when, just a few days in – on January 2nd, the house keeper found Jett Travolta lying motionless on the floor. According to the first investigations, the cause of death was established to have been seizures.
The family’s lawyers told the public that Jett had a history of seizures, especially since he had been diagnosed with the Kawasaki disease when he was younger. The Kawasaki disease is a condition that causes blood vessel inflammation, and can lead to heart problems in time. John Travolta’s wife and Jett’s mother, Kelly Preston, said that their son also suffered from asthma, which was caused and aggravated by household cleaning products.
On the 4th of January, the Travolta family returned to Florida, with the remains of their son, after doctors from the Bahamas performed an autopsy and released the boy’s body. The body was cremated in the Bahamas, allowing the Travoltas to carry his ashes back to Florida.
The family announced a small memorial service will be held in Ocala, Florida, this Thursday. The ceremony will be small and will comprise of just close friends and family.
