Sylvester Stallone will direct British movie star Jason Statham and Kung-fu sensation Jet Li in the upcoming action movie called “The Expendables.” Jet Li is still in negotiations with the producers, but the two parts are in the final stages of the negotiation process.  

The film was written by Stallone and will also be directed by him. The Expendables it’s a film about a group of mercenaries that is sent to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. They are called “the expendables” because they are given tasks that no one wants and few can accomplish. Shooting will begin in February in Costa Rica and Louisiana.

“The Expendables” it’s the first movie of the pair on which Sly Stallone was commissioned by Nu Image/Millenium Films. The other movies will most likely be the next installment of "Rambo" series which made him famous.

The latest “Rambo” release grossed $155 million worldwide this year.

Considering the fact that the action takes place in South Africa, the film should resemble to some extent to Rambo 2 in which Vietnam veteran John Rambo also realizes that he is expendable.

However, the cast is sensational. It’s like Rambo asking Jason Statham and Jet Li to join him in kicking some Vietnamese and Russian ass. I can’t wait to see the action….
