In case you were wondering what is going on with Nicole Richie lately, "The Simple Life" star, weighting a deadly thin 83 lbs., reportedly entered rehab earlier this month, to deal with anorexia and an addiction to pills, The National Enquirer and Star magazine said.
However, Richie followed the "Britney Spears routine" and checked herself out of rehab, while her publicist released a well-thought statement denying she is currently in rehab.
"She is at home in Glendale. Sobriety is an ongoing precess but she is sober," her rep said.
She didn’t confirm nor infirm the news in Star magazine claiming the 25-year-old star checked in to the Beau Monde Treatment Center in Corona Del Mar, California.
"Nicole's been a mess for months," a sourse was quoted by the magazine as saying. "Her weight has plummeted."
Both the magazines insist their stories are true, and that Richie sought help for her food disorder and substance abuse.
"We figured Nicole's publicist would try to deny this. We have excellent sources, though," PerezHilton.com reported.
Last year, Richie admitted to Vanity Fair that she was too thin but said she was consulting a nutritionist and physician. "I was scared that it could be something more serious," she told the magazine.
In October, Richie underwent diagnostic treatment to, according to her representative, "determine why she's not putting on any weight."
In a statement, her spokesperson added: "It is important to Nicole that she achieves this goal in a healthy way as this is not a treatment for an eating disorder."
