Now that Jimmy Kimmel's fair response to his girlfriend Sarah Silverman and Matt Damon's video spoof has had its share of success, Silverman said she wasn't surprised by Kimmel's choice of characters.
"I suspected Jimmy was on the down low for a long time now. I wish I could say I was surprised by this," the comedienne was quoted by the Daily News as saying.
After keeping quiet for more than three weeks following his girlfriend's public confession about her sex life involving actor Matt Damon, late night host Jimmy Kimmel released his own mock clip in response.
Confessing he was "humiliated" and "angry" but he's "not the kind of guy to get pushed around," Kimmel went on and introduced his video. "You take something I love from me and you can damn well bet I'm gonna take something you love from you, too. Matt, Sarah, this is for you."
Just like Silverman, who unveiled her affair with Damon through an expletive-laden music video, featuring the “Bourne Ultimatum” star, Kimmel made his comeback unforgettable.
Similarly to Silverman's video, Kimmel is shown strumming gently on his guitar before launching into the big reveal: him and Affleck, bare-chested and latex-clad, respectively, donning the shortest of short-shorts, proclaiming their love, or at least lust, in song.
What follows next is a "We Are The World"-kind-of-performance from Hollywood's elite including Cameron Diaz, Huey Lewis of Huey Lewis and the News, Don Cheadle, Rebecca Romjin, Christina Applegate, Dominic Monaghan, Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, Meatloaf, Josh Groban, Joan Jett, Robin Williams, Lance Bass, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad), Joel and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte and Macy Gray, who all sing about Kimmel's man love for Affleck.
Actor Brad Pitt is also making an appearance in the video, as a delivery boy who drops off a cake to a shirtless Kimmel, standing beside Affleck.
"Brad [Pitt] recognized the need. He heard the call to action," Kimmel's executive producer, Jill Leiderman, told Daily News.
"The day Kimmel and Affleck shot the scene where they almost kiss, it took 10 takes because they couldn't do it without laughing," an insider revealed.
"Ben [Affleck] got wind of this and we reached out to him, and he was more than eager to participate. He spent an entire day with us. Robin Williams, who's pals with both Ben and Matt from 'Good Will Hunting,' is a regular of our show and was more than happy to help. Same thing with Josh Groban. When he was approached, he jumped at the chance."
