Shia LeBeouf Can’t Keep A Secret: Indiana IV Title Revealed

To young actor Shia LeBeouf, last night seemed like a great opportunity for announcing the official title of the fourth Indiana Jones movie.

While taking the stage during Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards ceremony to present the Female Artist of the Year (to Fergie), Shia LeBeouf, who stars in the upcoming Indiana Jones movie, couldn’t help himself from saying:

"So I've been sworn to secrecy by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas not to tell you the title of the next Indiana Jones movie," he explained.

"What the hell, I'm 21 and we're in Vegas, baby, so here it goes. The official title to the next Indiana Jones installment: ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.’ It's a big deal, nobody's ever heard it before," he added.

MTV parent company Viacom also owns Paramount Pictures who will be releasing the movie next year on May 22.

"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is the result of long debates revolving around six possible titles registered with the Motion Picture Association of America. The title was confirmed by the movie’s official website.

The other titles registered were "Indiana Jones and City of Gods," "Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Gold," "Indiana Jones and the Destroyer of Worlds," "Indiana Jones and the Quest for the Covenant," and "Indiana Jones and the Fourth Corner of the Earth," thecelebritytruth.com reported.

Starring Harrison Ford Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, Ray Winstone and John Hurt under Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’ helm, "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" refers to a pre-existing myth; this one involves 13 skulls carved from crystal quartz, hidden all over the world and thought to possess mystical powers.

The "Indiana Jones" films have grossed more than $US1.18 billion ($1.5 billion) worldwide since the first movie in the trilogy, "Raiders of the Lost Ark," opened in 1981.
