Shia LaBeouf, an actor known for his role in “Indiana Jones
and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, who suffered a severe injury in a car
accident in West Hollywood, Calif., last month, experienced a four-hour
surgery, which left his arm immobilized, according to a statement released by
LaBeouf’s attorney, Michael Norris.
Making the most of the unfortunate incident, director
Michael Bay says he is considering introducing the 22-year-old actor’s hand
injury into the story of “Transformers:
Revenge of the Fallen”, the sequel to last year’s “Transformers.”
Michael
Bay stated in an
interview with “Access Hollywood” on Friday that he was trying to find a way to
include the young star’s real life wound in the film script. “I spoke to him
yesterday in the hospital. His two fingers are pretty mashed, but we’re
figuring out a way to shoot around it, kind of write it in the story,” he said.
Shia LaBeouf was injured in a late at night crash that took
place last Sunday in West Hollywood. The
“Indiana Jones” star was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, but
officials now assert the accident that flipped his truck was not caused by the
actor, and that the other driver apparently ran a red light, the Associated
Press reported.
His “Transformers” sequel co-star, Australian actress Isabel
Lucas, 23, was the passenger of LaBeouf’s vehicle at the time of the accident,
but she was not harmed.
Nonetheless, Michael
Bay defended the actor
from suspicion that he had been drunk driving. “He
was not drunk. He was drinking hours and hours before,” the New York Daily News
quoted the director as saying during the “Access Hollywood” interview.
