Access Hollywood was the first online source which announced Shia LaBeouf’s car crash and license suspense. It seems that the young star of “Indiana Jones” and “Transformers” was involved in an accident while he was driving his car on a morning of July 2008.
LaBeouf resisted four hours of surgery because his hand was completely crushed due to the impact. According to the California Department of Motor Vehicles, the 22-year-old actor had his license suspended on January 17 because he had refused to take a chemical test after the officers had pulled him over.
Yet, a sheriff’s spokesman from Los Angeles County stated back in July that the officers who booked LaBeouf found it apparent that the actor was intoxicated. They took him into police custody after they had charged him of a misdemeanor DUI.
The district attorney’s office from Los Angeles County announced in September their lack in evidence as to charge LaBeouf with drunken driving. Yet, the sheriff’s deputies stated that he wasn’t the one at fault for the car crash. Apparently, Simon Herbert, 21, from Los Angeles, was sent a citation after he had failed in stopping at the red light.
Isabel Lucas, LaBeouf’s co-star in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” which is going to be released on May 29, was with her 22-year-old colleague in the car and got injured too. In addition, Michael Bay, the director of the movie, said that LaBeouf’s injury will just be added to the script.
LaBeouf became known for his starring role in the “Even Stevens” series broadcast by Disney Channel. Later on, he got some really important film roles, like the ones in “Holes,” the box office success, “Constantine” and “I Robot.”
