Young "Indiana Jones 4" star, Shia LaBeouf, issued an apology regarding a video of him just posted on YouTube in which he encourages a pal to smack him while using a homophobic slur.
A very playful and drunk Shia LaBeouf appeared in a clip which emerged on the Internet on Monday and has since been making the rounds on all celebrity gossip websites. The actor, who just turned 22, is shot at a house party fooling around with the other guests. He jokingly asks one of his pals to slap him by calling him a "f*ggot."
"The videotape that is currently being circulated is several years old and captures Shia playing a game among friends in which he uses a derogatory word toward a friend," LaBeouf’s rep told E!Online in what seems like a sincere apology. "He regrets having used the word in any capacity and is very embarrassed that this footage is being seen by anyone."
Most recently, LaBeouf told on "Regis and Kelly" during his May 20th appearance that he allows his dad, whom he has already outed as a former drug dealer and addict, to sleep in the garage. According to LaBeouf, his 60-year-old father lives in a teepee in Montana but comes to spend winters with his son.
"We've got this little air mattress set up for him. It's very comfortable. But now it's not winter anymore and he's still there. But I can't go there and go, `Hey dad. Listen it's time to go back.' I can't make him leave."
Last November, LaBeouf was arrested at a Chicago Walgreens because he refused to leave and charged with a misdemeanor count of trespassing. The charges were later dropped. He told David Letterman he was "pretty wasted" at the time. "Drinking and driving is one thing, but drinking and shopping ... it's just as bad," he joked.
