Young "Indiana Jones" star Shia LaBeouf, who is no stranger to law-trouble, has been arrested on suspicion of DUI early Sunday morning following a car accident.  

According to celebrity gossip website TMZ.com, the 22-year-old actor was involved in a car accident at about 3:00 AM at the corner of La Brea and Fountain in Hollywood. Although details about his most recent arrest are scarce, it appears that the star was driving under influence and got involved in a car accident. Both Shia and his accident victim were taken to the hospital.

Police officers said LaBeouf was placed under arrest on suspicion of felony DUI after he exhibited "outward signs" of intoxication at the scene, TMZ reported.

According to recent reports, the actor injured his left hand and needs surgery. The passenger he had in his car also suffered a small head injury while the driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. S. Wolf says it is unknown whether LaBeouf will face felony or misdemeanor charges.

While LaBeouf, who will remain in the hospital "for a while," is very young and arrogant, this arrest and accident will hopefully be a wake up call for him and he will start taking more responsibility for his actions.

Shia LaBeouf’s former run-ins with the law, which could be chalked up to youthful indiscretions, include an arrest for a drunken stand-down in a Chicago Walgreens drug store with a security guard, who made fun of him for purchasing Clearasil in November of last year and a ticket for smoking in a public place.

In June, a video was leaked that showed a drunken Shia while at a party telling a fellow friend to slap him while using some anti-gay words. Immediately afterward the actor issued a statement that he never should have used the word and apologized for it. He said it was an old video that was not meant to be made public.
