Being sexy does not necessarily imply revealing lots of
skin, wearing ultra flashy makeup or extremely racy clothes. Sexiness stands in
one’s attitude, especially if we’re dealing with powerful women. You don’t have
to be 20 something, blonde, blue-eyed and thick-lipped so as to look good. This
is the case with Halle Berry, too. She turned 42 a couple of months
ago, she recently gave birth to a baby and her “Bond” and “Catwoman” sides
remain buried deep into the past.
But still, the actress is beautiful, stylish, daring and
hot. She looks even better next to hunky model Gabriel Aubry and their little
girl Nahla Ariela Aubry. She is even sexier than 20 years ago and the strong
attitude she exposes make her seem more attractive.
Halle Berry won an Academy Award and a Golden
Globe, has starred in dozens of successful movies and she appears to be very satisfied
with what she has obtained throughout time. Esquire magazine thinks she is more
eye-catching than she ever was and has named the “Gothika” star the sexiest
woman alive in its November issue.
The actress, who modeled for the magazine’s Web site in a
lampoon of a 2000 cover photograph of ex United States President Bill Clinton, explained
that she would accept the title taking into account her age and her maternal
status. “I don’t know exactly what it means, but being 42 and having just had a
baby I think I’ll take it,” Halle
Berry says in the new issue of
Esquire, as part of a so-called acceptance speech.
“I’ve been in the business for more than twenty years, and
you decide now, at this particular time, that I’m the sexiest woman alive? Come
on. I mean, you couldn’t go with the Bond-girl year? You didn’t like the orange
bikini?” the actress jokes. Some of us loved the bikini, Ms. Berry, but the suit suits you even better.
The “Perfect Stranger” star posed for the magazine sitting
on a chair, while wearing a black bra covered by
a suit jacket and a blue tie.
That’s one form of sexiness, while the other is a mere
feeling, a relaxed and confident mood. “Sexiness is a state of mind – a
comfortable state of being,” Halle
Berry explains. “It’s all about
loving yourself in your most unlovable moments.”
After a couple of unsuccessful marriages, Halle Berry
seems to have got her personal life back on track. In 1992, she tied the knot
with former baseball player David Justice, but the couple divorced four years
later. The actress subsequently married musician Eric Benét, but this relationship
didn’t work either.
In November 2005, Halle
Berry began dating
French-Canadian model Gabriel Aubry, who is 10 years younger than she is. The
“Monster’s Ball” star gave birth to their daughter Nahla on March 16 and
everything seems to be going just fine.
“I know damned well I am sexier now than I used to be,” Halle Berry
says.
We know it too and can’t wait to see you on the big screens
again!
