The singer joined the latest trend adopting a 2-week-old baby boy, she announced on Friday on her website.
"I am so excited to share with you guys that I've adopted a little boy," Sheryl Crow wrote.
"His name is Wyatt (after my dad) Steven (after my little brother and Scooter) and we are enjoying some very private family time."
"Just wanted you to be the first to know," she added.
The 45-year-old star, who had breast cancer surgery early last year after a breakup with champion cyclist Lance Armstrong, did not reveal any details regarding the circumstances in which the baby was born but Crow's publicist said the child was born in the United States.
According to a source, the Grammy Award winning singer is in the seventh heaven these days.
"She's super happy. He was born two weeks ago, and she's just over the moon," US magazine.com quoted the source, as saying.
Last summer, she told CNN's Larry King that she would "absolutely" consider adoption.
"If I were to adopt, I could love a child that came through somebody else's womb as easily as I could my own," Crow said.
Known for hits such as "All I Wanna Do," "Run Baby Run," or "Soak Up the Sun," the singer underwent a surgery for breast cancer last year, and made a full recovery, two weeks after she and Armstrong announced their split.
