Ok, so let’s recap, shall we? Rumors have it that Jamie Lynn
Spears sent a gift basket to Bristol Palin, the 17-year-old pregnant daughter
of John McCain’s vice presidential choice, Sarah Palin.
No, wait. Reports later said that Britney Spears’ mom, Lynne
Spears, was the one to order the gift by phone and sent it on behalf of her
17-year-old daughter, who is also a mother.
On Wednesday, a source close to the Beverly Hills baby store Petit Tresor informed
CelebTV.com that Lynne Spears called to order a present and requested that the
gift came from her youngest daughter. “It was ordered by phone, and they asked
what could be done for under $100. They spent $60 on pink burp cloths,” the
source said.
Moreover, the present allegedly had a card attached that
showed Jamie Lynn’s support for mother-to-be Bristol Palin. “Dear Bristol, Hang in there!
XXOO, Jamie Lynn Spears,” the card reportedly read.
However, Lynne Spears denied all rumors. “I just got off the
phone with Lynne. I can tell you that she hasn't sent her any gifts, but that
she does support Sarah and, of course, can empathize with their situation,”
Curt Handling, Spears’ publicist at the Thomas Nelson publishing company, told
E! News.
I sure hope that we won’t find out today that Britney was
the one to send the much talked about gift.
Jamie Lynn Spears, the former star of the TV show “Zoey
101,” gave birth to her daughter, Maddie Briann, in June, this year. She is
engaged to Casey Aldridge, but the couple is said to be on the rocks, as recent
reports have been bringing to light Casey Aldridge’s infidelity.
Sarah Palin announced on Monday that her daughter was five
months pregnant and that she was engaged to the 18-year-old father of her
child, Levi Johnston.
