After being kicked out for her reckless (childish) behavior on the set in 1994, Playboy hottie Shannen Doherty will allegedly be part of the 90210 spinoff which is now in the works. The contemporary series of the hit 1990s TV show was commissioned by U.S. network CW. The original show ran for 10 years from 1990 to 2000 and starred Jason Priestley, Luke Perry, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling.
Shannen Doherty, according to Tori Spelling, was at times arrogant and carefree. She got into a fistfight with co-star Jennie Garth, Spelling claimed in her autobiography.
In late may, the network announced that Jennie Garth would be the first original member of the cast that joined the new series, playing the role that made her famous: Kelly Taylor. Garth’s character will have become a guidance counselor.
Shortly after Garth confirmed she would star in the new series, Spelling expressed her desire to also be a part of the show. Like Garth, Spelling will make guest appearances in the new series, as her character will not be a regular one. However, her appearance will be delayed by the recovery from the recent C-section birth. Spelling’s character will have become a boutique owner.
Rob Estes, a star of the popular series “Melrose Place,” has also been confirmed to play the role of the principal of West Beverly High. The debut of the new 90210 is scheduled for fall, and the series started shooting this week. In late April, it was rumored that Hillary Duff just might be the new face of “Beverly Hills 90210.”
