Los Angeles  - The saucy TV spin-off Sex And The City is returning to cinemas, Variety reported Friday, with a sequel to hit the screens on May 2, 2010.

The original Sex And The City movie, which chronicled the love lives of four New Yorkers, was a huge hit among women who flocked to see it at cinemas and helped it earn more than 410 million dollars at the global box office.

Before becoming a hit film, Sex And The City, starring Sarah Jessica Parker, 44, as New York writer Carrie Bradshaw, was a huge success on cable television as it followed the escapades of Carrie and her friends Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha.
