The 90’s teens have become grown-up men and women by now,
but this news will certainly make them return to those crazy times full of
mystery and fear when they were watching Detective Fox Mulder fighting aliens
and all those strange things that were happening to him.
David Duchovny himself has grown older, but just a little
bit and just so that he could seem a little bit wiser in front of his alien
enemies, who have certainly become even more tricky and evil than in the past.
As you can imagine, the information is true: the feature
that transformed David Duchovny from a little beautiful male-bunny into a
serious, charming action actor, “X-Files”, will return on screens. Co-star
David Duchovny himself has indicated during the Television Critics Association
press tour that the sequel is one step closer to becoming a reality. “I’m
supposed to see a script next week.” said Detective Mulder, alias David
Duchovny.
Chris Carter and Franz Spotnitz wrote the screenplay, while
Carter is set to direct the sequel.
"Chris will direct it," Duchovny told the
Television Critics Association. "Gillian is on board, and that's all I can
tell you."
The first X-Files movie was released in 1998. Duchovny has
also mentioned that his co-star Gillian Anderson is also on board to for the
new movie, which was reportedly delayed in part because of a now-settled
lawsuit that Chris Carter filled in 2005 against 20th Century Fox Television
alleging breach of contract and other claims over payments allegedly owed to
him from the famous series.
David Duchovny has been at the Television Critics
Association for promoting his upcoming Showtime comedy series
“Californication”, which will debut on the 13th of August 2007.
