Second Stage
Theater unraveled the mystery of its “Boys’ Life’s” cast and creative team.
The revival of Howard Korder’s 1988 Pulitzer Prize finalist
will feature Jason Biggs (“Guy X,” “American Pie”), Rhys Coiro (“Entourage,”
“Mama’s Boy”) and Peter Scanavino, known for his roles in Second Stage’s 2006
production of “subUrbia” and “Shining City.” The three actors will play the
comedy’s college buddies striving to make it in the big city, on their way to
adulthood.
The play will be directed by “Rent’s” Tony Award nominee Michael
Greif and is due to begin previews on October 2, with an official premiere
scheduled for October 20. Acts will continue through November 9.
The cast list also includes names as Dan Colman (“Romeo and
Juliet,” “Secret Order”), Betty Gilpin (“Good Boys and True,” “Strong
Medicine”), Michelle Federer (“Wicked,” “Three Days of Rain), Laura-Leigh (“The
House of the Blue Leaves,” “Our Lady of 121st Street”), Paloma Guzmán
(“Gossip Girl,” “As You Like It”), as well as Stephanie March (“Talk Radio,”
“Death of a Salesman”).
Furthermore, the creative team includes Clint Ramos
(costumes), Mark Wendland (sets), Kevin Adams (lighting design) and Fitz Patton
in charge of sound.
The company’s season continues in December with the New York debut of Gina
Gionfriddo’s “Becky Shaw,” plus the world premiere of Douglas Carter Beane’s
“Mr. & Mrs. Fitch” due for next year.
