Sean Young Goes Rehab Way

Sean Young, the actress best known for her roles in “Blade Runner” and “No Way Out” voluntarily admitted herself to a rehabilitation center for treatment related to alcoholism.

Sean Young’s decision follows an embarrassing event that took place on Sunday at the Directors Guild of America awards.

In a press statement, the actress’ spokesperson said: "It is understood that Young has struggled against the disease for many years." The spokeperson declined to comment beyond the statement.

According to the media reports, a very drunk Sean Young yelled at Julian Schnabel, who was nominated for "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly", during his speech at DGA Awards.

Sean Young, who was seated near the stage, yelled “Oh come on - get to it!" and when Schnabel searched the crowd to ask who was scolding him, she repeated "Get to it!"

Schnabel replied by suggesting to Sean Young to "have another drink”, and he started to leave the stage.

The audience urged him to stay and keep speaking and he did, while two security guards removed Sean Young from the ballroom at the Hyatt Regency in Century City.

The Directors Guild declined to comment the incident. "The DGA wishes to respect Ms. Young's privacy at this difficult time and declines further comment," DGA said in a press statement.

One of the promising movie stars of the ‘80s and early 90’s, Sean Young’s fame has quickly faded out, after her co-star from The Boost (1988), James Woods, filed a harassment suit against her claiming that she had repeatedly threatened him.

In 1989, Kim Basinger replaced Sean Young as Vicki Vale in Tim Burton’s Batman, after Young suffered a riding accident. One year later, Warren Beatty fired Sean Young from the Tess Trueheart role in 1990's Dick Tracy.

She tried to make a comeback as a Catwoman in the 1992 sequel "Batman Returns", but the role went to Michelle Pfeiffer.
