Scott Stapp,33, the former frontman of group Creed, was
arrested on Monday on suspicion of domesteic violence. According to tmz.com, Stapp
was accused of throwing a soft drink bottle at his beauty queen wife, Jacyln
Nesheiwat, 26. Stapp wed former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat last year
Scott Stapp is the founder of the rock band Creed and won a
Grammy Award in 2000 for the song "With Arms Wide Open", but
since then he launched a solo career.
According to Nesheiwat, Stapp stumbled home Sunday morning
and became "very angry" when his wife asked if he was "using
drugs." He became angry, yelled “leave me alone” and grabbed an Orangina
bottle and launched it at her face, nearly hitting her. Although she declined
to comment about the incident, she told The Palm Beach Post: “It's just a rough
time.”
The local authorities confirmed that no injuries were
reported Sunday when sheriff's deputies were called to Stapp's home in Boca Raton. "We
don't know exactly what occurred here," said Paul Miller, sheriff's office
spokesman, who did not identify the victim. Recently, Stapp admitted to a
history of addiction during a Rolling Stone magazine interview.
In April, Stapp settled his lawsuit filed in Los Angeles against RLD, an
adult film company that sold an X-rated video of Stapp and Kid Rock. The tape
showed Stapp and Kid Rock having sex with four groupies on a tour bus in 1999. The
fromer Creed frontman said the "video diary" was stolen from a safe
in his house, but the film company denied having anything to do with that.
