John McCain and Sarah Palin are scheduled to offer their
first post-election TV interviews this week.
While the former Republican presidential candidate will show
up for NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Tuesday, a week after being
defeated by Democrat Barack Obama in the elections, his ex-running mate is due
to appear on Fox News’ “On the Record With Greta Van Susteren,” which will air
today at 10 p.m.
John McCain has been a usual guest on the show hosted by Jay
Leno, as he stopped by frequently before and throughout his presidential
campaign, so it comes as no surprise that he chose to offer his first interview
following the elections during the NBC program, which is scheduled to run on
Veterans Day.
On the other hand, Sarah Palin’s appearance on the Fox News
show will surely draw attention and an impressive number of viewers, since she
has been trailed recently by rumors with regard to her conduct and intellectual
deficiencies pointed out by unnamed staffers of John McCain’s campaign.
In spite of the fact that Sarah Palin rejected accusations
claiming her wasteful spending on outfits and called the leakers “jerks,” the
Monday night interview should be interesting enough, as a particular report by
Fox News correspondent Carl Cameron asserted that campaign staffers had
informed the media that the former vice presidential candidate believed that
Africa was a country rather than a continent. Ouch!
