San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who is hoping to replace Arnold Schwarzenegger as California’s governor in 2011, got married for the second time on Saturday.
Newsom married actress Jennifer Siebel at her parents’ Montana ranch.
It is the first marriage for Siebel, who appeared in the NBC series “Life,” and the second for Newsom, 40, who divorced legal analyst Kimberly Guilfoyle in March 2006.
Newsom met Siebel, 34, in October 2006 and they have been together ever since. They seem a very steady couple, with Siebel standing by Newsom’s side in good times and worse times. She was at his side when he was sworn in for his second term as mayor in January and also took his side when he publicly admitted to having had an affair with a staff member’s wife and a drinking problem.
The wedding guests included House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and husband Paul Pelosi, Pelosi’s daughter, Christine Pelosi, and her husband, as well as Gina Moscone, Gordon Getty, Maurice Kanbar, former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, Kathleen Alioto.
According to the mayor’s office, the ceremony was officiated by a friend of the couple, Carol Simone.
Siebel wore a Vera Wong wedding gown and jewelry by S.H. Silver Company, the People magazine reports.
The couple’s sisters served as bridesmaids, while Newsom’s nieces were the flower girls.
The newlyweds are going to spend their honeymoon in Africa, where Siebel worked for the environmental organization Conservation International.
