San Antonio Spurs versus Phoenix Suns: 88-85

San Antonio Spurs has taken the lead in their Western Conference semifinal playoff series thanks to Argentine Manu Ginobili. He scored 16 of his 26 points in the final quarter, including two free throws with 10.5 seconds left.

"We are both great teams and we are good at comebacks, today we just could take it from them" Ginobili said. "I'm so really proud of what we did tonight."

The best player of Phoenix Suns was Tim Duncan with 21 points and 12 rebounds. "It was a truly great effort by both teams," Duncan said. "We made it a 48-minute game and fought it all the way through. A lot of credit for them for playing short-handed like they did."

Phoenix carried a 79-71 lead with just over five minutes left to play before running out of gas. After two free throws by Spurs guard Tony Parker tied it at 81-apiece, he spotted Bruce Bowen in the right corner for the go-ahead 3-pointer with 36 seconds left, that put them ahead, 84-81.

"That's his shot," Duncan said, "Every time Bruce let's it go there are 13 guys over there thinking it's going in. We've got that confidence in him." Nash hit two free throws to pull the Suns within a point, but Ginobili countered with a pair at the other end with 10.5 ticks to go. After a timeout, Nash missed an off-balanced jumper. Spurs Michael Finley made two free throws to extend the lead to 88-83 before Raja Bell's lay-up ended the game.

"It's frustrating because we were very close but it's not over," Nash said. "We feel we have a lot left. It will be nice to have a full team back and see what we can do down there. We got a lot of heart, so I think this thing is just heating up."
