Samsung Explained Its Plan For The Upcoming Android Phone

Looking to set everything straight, Samsung’s officials released a statement to address the many rumors about the highly anticipated presentation of its Google Android smartphone during the GSMA Mobile World Congress. After the initial reports about the presentation, new ones surfaced, announcing that the launch of the new device will be delayed.

Earlier today, Samsung's Kim Titus explained that the phone isn't delayed, as they never intended to come out with an Android phone at the MWC and also, that their development process is right on time, with the release coming in the second part of the year - just as scheduled.

"Somebody decided that we had said we were going to show Android here and then said we weren't. We never said we were going to show Android, and we were never planning to. There's no delay, and we're on track to launch later this year as expected," he said.

He also added that process will be accelerated in order to meet the specific needs of local carriers. At this point, it is still uncertain which carriers will be chosen by Samsung for the partnership, with the names mentioned including T-Mobile and Sprint Nextel, but more details should be available over the next several weeks.

Google is setting everything up to ensure that the mobile devices equipped with its operating system will present a massive appeal to the public. The company announced that it will allow pay-to-play apps in the Android store, which will significantly enlarge the offer and attract a much bigger customer base.
