DJ Samantha Ronson had a bit of a health scare last week, after being hospitalized in Los Angeles for exhaustion.

The 31-year-old checked in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Sunday afternoon, just hours after deejaying at Hollywood’s Ecco Ultra Lounge, accompanied by companion Lindsay Lohan.

 

She was released and all is well now, according to a message posted on her MySpace Celebrity blog on Monday. Ronson thanked her fans for their support and explained that she had been exhausted from traveling and work. Not just work-work but “working too much to buy Chanukah gifts.” She added, “my Jewish mother was worried about me.”

A friend of the DJ’s told Life & Style magazine several factors had led to Ronson’s burnout, including depression and lack of food and sleep. Lindsay Lohan, 22, was right there to support her.

 

Ronson and Lohan have been attracting much attention due to their constant companionship, generating talk that they were a couple. Then of course, they were followed everywhere by paparazzi and photographed hugging, holding hands and being all cuddly. The signs were all there.

Both women have credited the other with getting their life on the right track and for personal happiness. The actress went through a difficult couple of years, entering rehab twice last in 2007 and quieting her partying ways after leaving a rehab facility the second time.

 

Persons in Ronson’s circle of friends have said she has a good influence on Lohan’s life. Neither has spoken publicly about their relationship but they have taken to their MySpace Celebrity blogs to defend each other or to express affection, like the time when Lohan’s notoriously outspoken father told reporters the A-list deejay was actually a negative presence in his daughter’s life.

 

Lohan’s mother on the other hand has only had words of praise for Ronson, describing her as a “true friend” to her daughter.
