The Mexican actress Salma Hayek, 41, has given birth to a
girl, Valentina Paloma Pinault, her publicist announced Friday.
"Mother and child are doing well," Hayek's

day, were not clear from the announcement.
In March this year, Salma Hayek announced her engagement
with French business executive Francois-Henri Pinault, the CEO of
Pinault-Printemps-Redoute, which owns fashion houses Gucci, Stella McCartney
and Yves Saint Laurent.
For the Mexican actress Valentina Paloma is the first child,
while Francois-Henri Pinault has two previous children.
Salma Hayek, who was nominated for an Academy Award, for her
role in “Frida” in 2002 is also one of the executive producers of ABC’s
"Ugly Betty"
In April this year Salma Hayek was appointed as the CEO of Ventanazul,
a production company she formed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc, which will focus on
Latin-themed material.
As announced Ventazul has to produce and acquire between two
and four Latin-themed films per year for MGM.
Hayek’s debut in Hollywood
was in 1995 when she co-starred with Antonio Banderas in Desperado. Hayek's
Hollywood credits include 1996's From Dusk Till Dawn, 1999’s Wid, wild West, Frida
in 2002 and Once Upon a Time in Mexico in 2003.
