A bad Christmas present was delivered yesterday by the guys developing Sacred 2, which have announced that the upcoming RPG will be delayed again, until September 2008.
Ascaron’s official site says that the reasons for the delay are “a longer development process”, in order to ensure “maximum performance in all areas”, and the game’s “many technical innovations”, which require “extensive testing and balancing in all areas”.
“An extension of the development process was necessary in order to ensure that we realize all the development plans and ship both PC and Xbox 360 versions with the best possible quality and stability,” the message said.
Disappointed RPG fans will get the chance of testing the game before its scheduled September 2008 release, and a public demo will be readied for the period preceding the official debut. Producers are also hoping to have a “big surprise” in time for the Leipzig Games Convention (in August 2008), but nothing is certain yet in that domain.
Anyway, we’re just hoping that Fallen Angel will not be a clone of Titan Quest, as Sacred 1 was a clone of Diablo (it’s true, a very decent clone, but...not much of an improvement).
