Viewers were shocked when “Dancing with the Stars” celebrity competitor Sabrina Bryan was voted off the show Tuesday night.
No one foresaw this move: Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan and her professional dancer partner Mark Ballas being booted off the show. Many thought the pair would reach the top three, at the very least.
Sabrina, member of Disney’s The Cheetah Girls group, received ample support upon being eliminated, with OK! magazine reporting that the other participants in the show surrounded her and Mark backstage to give them support hugs.
After the show, Sabrina told OK!: “It’s sad to go. We’re not ready to go. We had so many ideas. I have such amazing fans — I’m assuming they called in and it just wasn’t enough this week.”
Furthermore, she stated that she is happier now that she and her partner will grow to know each other as friends not being stressed by the competition any more. “I’m happy Mark and I now get to just be friends, to know each other and not have the stress of the show.”
The elimination comes as a shock as she and her partner scored 30 points two weeks ago for the paso doble and were among the favorites to win the finals.
“This is the most vocal our audience has been in five seasons. We are all shocked here tonight,” said Tom Bergeron, the show’s host.
The elimination came as a shock for fellow participants as well. Spice Girl Mel. B said: “I think they need to recount the votes,” while her partner Marsim Chmerkovskiy told OK!: “This is the most shocking elimination show of all the seasons.”
Shocking announcement number 1 was Sabrina’s elimination, while a somewhat milder but nevertheless shocking announcement was that celebrity contestant Jane Seymour was ill from food poisoning and could not participate in this week’s competition.
Her partner, Tony Dovolani, told OK!: “She’s still in the hospital just to be safe, just to check herself. I’ve spoken to her. She’s feeling great. I have no idea [what she ate].”
Jane Seymour, Cameron Mathison, Marie Osmond, Melanie Brown and Jennie Garth are the five remaining contestants in the competition.
