For those of us who missed Rosie O’Donnell on our television screens
after leaving ABC’s “The View,” MSNBC has great news.
The television channel offered Rosie O’Donnell a hosting contract
for a prime-time show that would replace their rather low-rated “Live with Dan
Abrams,” which started to air in early September and it would compete with CNN’s “Larry King Live
and Fox News' Hannity & Colmes,” the New York Times reported.
Referring to this, O’Donnell had a few comments to make during
a recent book signing in Miami
that she would soon begin to compete against “the guy with the suspenders and
the long, long face,” according to a pod cast posted on lyingonthebeach.com.
Her show on MSNBC would consist of O’Donnell discussing the
current events and would start just in time for her to give her thoughts on the
following presidential election in 2008. It would also follow another top-rated
program of MSNBC, “Countdown with Keith Olbermann.”
Since leaving “The View” in April, O’Donnell has been
counting a number of offers, at some point being a very important candidate to
take over the hosting on “The Price Is Right,” which was ultimately offered
to Drew Carey.
Speaking of her desire to find a new source of employment, she posted a few comments
on her blog in June: "Here's the thing. I don't really need a job. I'm in
a weird position. I don't need the money. I know you're not allowed to talk
about money in America,
but I'm just saying I don't."
Negotiations are still on going between the former co-host
of “The View” and MSNBC.
Until they come to an end, O’Donnell keeps herself busy
being a recurring guest actor on FX”s “Nip/Tuck.” Moreover, her book, "Celebrity
Detox” debuted at No. 5 on the New York Times Best selling non-fiction list
last month.
