Rosie O’Donnell is currently promoting her new autobiography and has reportedly refused an invitation to Oprah’s show in favor of Diane Sawyer.
Today’s dish about former “The View” co-host Rosie O’Donnell is that she turned down Oprah Winfrey’s invitation on her talk show, choosing an interview with ABC anchor Diane Sawyer instead.
A source told the New York Daily Post about Rosie’s preferences in talk show hosts.
“She's doing an interview with Diane Sawyer instead. Rosie has always been booked with Diane. We gracefully declined Oprah's offer. I'm sure Rosie will do Oprah's show another time.”
“Celebrity Detox: The Fame Game” will reportedly chronicle the “interesting year” Rosie has had, she said in spring. While the book does refer to the eight-month period she spent on “The View” as co-host, Rosie said it would not be “vindictive” or “mean-spirited.”
Two persons she could certainly attack within the pages of her memoir are Donald Trump, with which she has had heated, embarrassing, public arguments, and former “View” colleague Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
Rosie and Elisabeth had an on-air clash in late May over their divergent political views.
The book describes Rosie’s own struggle to leave fame behind after “The Rosie O'Donnell Show” ended in 2002. She describes fame as an addiction and compares it to a drug.
“It is, in fact, a drug,” Rosie said at BookExpo America earlier this summer, adding that she has been a witness to the changes celebrity brings to people, making them resemble victims of “crystal meth.”
“Celebrity Detox” is her second memoir, after the 2002 best-seller “Find Me.” It reached number two on the New York Times bestseller list.
