Comic star Roseanne Barr slams actors Jon Voight, his
daughter Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt on her blog, labeling Jolie as Voight’s
“evil spawn” and Pitt as “vacuous.”
Barr’s violent reaction was engendered by Voight’s
expressing his opinion against presidential candidate Barack Obama. Jon Voight
wrote for the Washington Times in July, insinuating that Obama’s winning the
White House position would bring “a socialist era.”
At that time, the lead actress of the 1989-1997 sitcom
“Roseanne” mocked Voight, calling him a “frightened little girl in a pink
ballet tutu, who acts like Obama just wandered in from the rain forest with a
bone thru his nose and a communist pamphlet in his loincloth.”
Barr became even angrier when Angelina Jolie issued a
statement, explaining that she hadn’t been persuaded yet by either Obama or his
counter-candidate, Sen. John McCain. “I am waiting to see the commitments they
will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the
needs of children in crisis around the world,” read Jolie’s statement of last
week. Even though she stated that she remains neuter in endorsing either of
them, there have been hints that after her February trip to Iraq, she was more in favor of
McCain.
Barr wrote a post
titled “Jon Voight” in which she also snapped at Jolie and Pitt. She accused
the two of earning millions from very violent films and spending a small part
of the total to construct a fake image of caring people. “Your evil spawn
Angelina Jolie and her vacuous hubby Brad Pitt make about $40 million a year in
violent, psychopathic movies and give away three of it to starving children,
trying to look as if they give a crap about humanity as they spit out more dunces
that will consume more than their fair share and wreck the earth even more,”
she wrote.
Making reference to Jolie’s present indecision towards Obama
or McCain, Roseanne Barr reminded the actress of the atrocities children in
developing countries had to suffer under the Republican regime. “Aren't you
supposed to be somewhat enlightened, or do you not know that the African
daughter you hold in every picture had parents who suffered and died because of
the Republican party's worldwide economic assault on Africa
over the last few decades since Reagan?”
Jolie and Pitt have adopted a Cambodian boy, 7-year old Maddox,
an Ethiopian girl, Zahara (3 years old) and Vietnamese Pax (4 years old). Their
first biologic child together is 2-year old Shiloh.
The famous pair, who earned the iconic name Brangelina, welcomed two more
babies on July 12, twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline.
