Actress Lindsay Lohan had the surprise of her life when she found herself doused with flour, rather than traditional red paint, after showing up to a Paris nightclub wearing a fur stole. Animal rights activists showered the 22-year-old actress with flour when she went to the VIP Room Theater in the early hours of Saturday with her friend, disc jockey Samantha Ronson.
Initially, it was believed that the attack came from a member of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), a group who has recently targeted Lohan for her frequent wearing of furs. But it was a plain anti-fur activist that covered the actress in flour and shouted, “Lindsay Lohan- fur hag!” An eyewitness told press, “Lindsay was mortified and then furious. She’s in Paris supporting her girlfriend, DJ Samantha Ronson, and I think she was planning a flour-free weekend.”
The nightclub's owner helped Lohan dust off her blue sequined dress and the apparent black fur stole that sparked the activists' ire before she posed on the red carpet. Ronson went on to spin tracks for a crowd that included reggae rapper Shaggy and "I Kissed a Girl" singer Katy Perry.
Nevertheless Samantha Ronson defended her lover on her MySpace blog. "The girl who threw [the flour] acted like an animal herself," Ronson, 30, says. "I take that back, it's an insult to animals to group her in with them, my dog is far more civilized than that person (…) I think there are plenty of families that could have used that flour for a meal. Nice job, lady," she added.
